Who We Are

WWF is the planet's largest and most experienced conservation organization, operating in over 100 countries through the support of nearly five million people worldwide. WWF-Philippines has been working as a national organization of the WWF network since 1997.

What We Do

We create practical solutions to the most serious conservation challenges facing our planet. In the Philippines, we spearhead measures that help the country adapt to changing climates, secure food and water sources, conserve local ecosystems to preserve natural benefits, empower communities to live low-impact lives, help corporations develop equitable, low-impact supply chains and promote renewable sources of clean energy.

Accomplishments/Projects

Our conservation sites are located throughout the Philippines - covering land, air, and water. Aside from protecting and rehabilitating these areas, we teach people here alternative forms of livelihood - those that are beneficial to both themselves and the environment.

Thanks to our partners, donors, and pro-active people who choose to live by WWF's solutions, over a million board feet of illegal lumber have been seized, with 17, 510 seedlings now ready to take their place. A once sleepy town has risen from a fifth class municipality to third class - and has become the Bicol-Region's best tourism destination. 15 Million Filipinos in 647 communities came together for a single act that saved enough power to shut down a dozen coal-fired power plants: they switched off their lights, and earned the country the #1 spot in 2009's Earth Hour. And these are but the tip of the iceberg.
